Gudi Padwa is considered an auspicious day that marks a New Year. It celebrates the arrival of spring season too. The word ‘Gudhi’ means a flag, a stick decorated with bright cloth, neem leaves and garlands is hoisted outside every house in Maharashtra, hence the name ‘Gudi Padwa’. It is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month according to the Hindu calendar. Students of Grade I of Sunitidevi Singhania School celebrated Gudi Padwa with lots of zest and excitement. The teacher shared the importance of the Gudhi and significance of celebrating the festival. The students enjoyed doing the activity of colouring and decorating the Gudhi.

They carried their precious master piece home and which will adorn their house walls certainly.
