“Preparedness is the calm before, during and after the storm.”
At Smt. Sunitidevi Singhania School, ‘Safety Week’ was celebrated from 17th October to 21st October.
Class 5, 6 and 7 students enlightened the entire school through presentation and dramatisation about road safety, food habits, safety to be followed while bursting crackers and safety to be followed while handling electrical appliances.
A mock safety evacuation drill was executed for the entire school to create awareness and preparedness during calamities. The students were trained to be alert, quick and responsible, follow instructions, maintain calm and avoid panic to avert stampede and casualties. The staff members positioned themselves at pre decided vantage points to guide and assist the students. The students quickly moved out in proper lines, covering their head with their bags. They were evacuated from the school and assembled at the ground. Students were trained to reach the safe designated areas allocated for each class in case of any emergency. Head count was done by the class teachers to ensure the presence of everyone. Special training has been imparted to the staff members to handle crisis and give first-aid relief if required. The main aim of the drill was to build courage and confidence amongst students.
