With an aim to get students familiar with nuances of stage performance and drama, Smt. Sunitidevi Singhania School introduced Short Plays through its prose- ‘Shortening a line’ for its Grade 3 students. The objective was to make them understand the different aspects of a drama including plots, characterization, scripting, dialogue delivery, expressions and voice modulation etc.

To turn it into an experiential learning, the students were tasked with different roles. The students were divided in groups where it was up to them to collaborate and work on their dialogues, assign characters and perform.

After a few days of rehearsals, students were brimming with confidence and excitement to perform on the D-day. Students surprised their teachers by giving near perfect creative performances. Many of them dressed up according to the role they were portraying. The fact that they could pull it off so smoothly on a virtual platform, gives us immense confidence in not only their talent but also their admirable coordination skills.

Watching the famous story of Akbar and Birbal played so beautifully in front of our eyes was absolutely commendable.
